BAWBWBBBB. Hell yeah folks Brandon here and I am here to review a movie known as Inception. Just a heads up this is a review within a dream, within a taco, within a Taco Bell. Inception. This movie is Christopher Nolan dipping his toe into sci-fi and it works beautifully. I was impressed on how interesting and original his idea was for this film. But before I start metaphorically sucking his dick lets just talk about the movie itself. The plot is something that I heard some people out there couldn't keep up with. I honestly don't know how if you pay attention to the movie it is fairly easy to follow along. This movie is about a group of dream thieves that must inplant a thought into a company owners head and make him have the idea of dissolving the company. In order to do this they must go into different levels of dream states which they explain but I won't get into. The main character Cobb is haunted by his past and his deceased wife constantly shows up in the dreams he is invading to fuck things up for them. The story is exciting without burdening you with too much information. That's how I don't get how anyone go lost in this movie everything people would ask like "how did they get in the hotel when they were in a van?" My first thought is to walk away because they need to see the movie again. This movie unlike some over pretentious films doesn't make up a bunch of random terms and then to never explain them. Now being that they are in a dream I never felt like they were in any real danger. They try to make it perilous but I'm like your rules say they might go into a coma, but they still won't die. I had me feeling like, "Oh no I get to sleep in, "so dangerous"". The story is exciting and it feels like Nolan wanted to keep this as a stand alone story with no sequel to speak of. The acting is done by some top notch actors. You have Leonardo DiCaprio who is Cobb. He is the harden badass dream warrior who is haunted by his dead wife. Now I personally didn't care too much about his character no matter how much they tried to flesh him out. But that was a script issue not his fault. Joseph Gordon-Levitt plays Cobb's right hand, Arthur. His character is for the most part exposition man. Most of his lines are explaining how everything in the dream world works. Last was Ellen Page as Ariadne. She is a young college architect that is a builder in the dream world. She is supposed to be the hub for the audience to see through being that this is all new to her. My one problem is they go over her training in this montage footage so only 10 minutes have passed and she is already a master dream architect. I understand they had to keep the story moving but it seemed rushed. Christopher Nolan directed and wrote this movie. He is a great director the visual effects and the shots in this movie are wonderful. He keeps the movie moving at a decent pace, even though some parts seemed rushed. My one problem with him was the writing. He didn't make me care about the characters; which I didn't need to be emotionally invested in any of them besides Cobb. But even with him fleshing out who Cobb was, and his motives, he doesn't write Cobb as a likeable guy as much as I wish he would've. Now I am just being nitpicky the movie is fantastic no one can deny that. Nolan created this universe where I was wishing I could go into my own dream. It is so damn interesting I do want to see more movies set in the Inception world, with a different plot. In the end the movie is a fantastic ride and a great thing to show young film buffs who might've not seen it. I love this movie, and even to this day if Nolan puts out a movie he has my money. I give this a 4.5/5. I'll be leaving you fine folks with a question, I wonder how many people use the device to revisit sex dreams?
