LOADOUT
One snowy cold ass day I was looking at random things on the interwebs, when I happened upon a new beta of a game. Thanks to Alienware Arena I grabbed one of the limited beta keys and a short time after, my download onSteam was done! Loadout is a third person shooter from Edge of Reality and is available with beta keys only on Steam. This game looks fantastic. The graphics of this game are very nice, from the Rambo looking ripped main character to the acid, electrical, and fire explosions. Everything looks crisp and deadly. The gore factor is awesome. One second your're minding your own business and the next you can see through to your spine as you're shot in the ass repeatedly with a beam rifle.
Loadout reminds me a lot of Team Fortress 2 because they play very similar. I'm not much of a PC gamer but I loved this game and how it's mechanics work. The control scheme is easy to understand, and can be changed at any time. I secretly wish i had a controller but that's just because I don't play PC much. For all you veteran PC people though it's basically the same generic control scheme.
GUNS GO PEW PEW PEW!!! And this game has a lot of them, holy crap. The customization in here is next to insane. There are hundreds I not thousands of different variants you can make. Customize the stock, sights, barrel, magazine, and the special effect of the bullets, rockets, lightning or whatever the hell you're firing. I myself made a six barrel, spiraling, clusterbombing, flame igniting rocket launcher that i nicknamed "Obese Betsy"
(Betsy is a pretty big girl). There are 4 main gun types: Rifle, Launcher, Pulse, and Tesla. I wont spoil the fun for you by telling you my favorite combo.
That's what the shooting gallery is for.
Characters are fairly generic, buff white guy or buff black guy. Although you can put some different clothes on them and modify their taunts. I was almost weeping with joy when i saw that they programmed in taunts from Gangnam Style. It was nice haha.
Multiplayer is what you'd expect from a game like this. Lots of muscular dudes running around a fairly small map shooting advanced weapons and
grenades at each other. I played two game types. Normal team death match and a mode that resembled headquarters form Call of Duty where you control a point and keep trying to control all the points until someone wins.
There isn't a story but keep in mind this is a beta so nothing is final. So far this game looks plays and feels phenomenal. I cant wait until the beta is done and the actual game is released.
